Xiaomi plans to provide generative AI (GenAI) user applications to its smartphones in India by the end of the fiscal year 2024–2025, just days after releasing its flagship-grade Xiaomi 14T.
According to Mint, which cited people familiar with the situation, the campaign will mostly include Xiaomi’s upper-mid range handsets, which retail for about INR 40K.
By doing this, Xiaomi hopes to democratize GenAI capabilities, which are now exclusively available on high-end devices.
A few days prior, Xiaomi allegedly unveiled the Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro smartphones, which had Google’s Gemini suite of GenAI features, such as an AI photo editor and the ability to “circle to search.”
