Eximius Ventures, a venture capital firm specializing in pre-seed investments, has unveiled its second fund with a target corpus of $30 million.

Fund II aims to back 25-30 startups across fintech, artificial intelligence (AI)/software-as-a-service (SaaS), frontier tech, and consumer tech sectors. The firm plans to invest an initial $500,000 in each company while allocating half of the fund for follow-on investments to further support promising portfolio companies.

The fund has already invested in four startups within the consumer tech and AI/SaaS domains. These deals were either led or co-led by Eximius Ventures in collaboration with other prominent institutional investors, showcasing the firm’s deliberate strategy to identify and nurture high-potential disruptors.

This initiative reinforces Eximius Ventures’ commitment to a focused pre-seed investment approach, steering clear of cohort-based or scattershot funding models.

Following the success of its inaugural $10 million fund launched in 2021, Fund II enables Eximius Ventures to further scale its support for innovators. The fund will draw capital from a diverse mix of limited partners (LPs), including high net-worth individuals (HNIs), founder-investors, family offices, as well as global Japanese corporate venture companies (CVCs).

“We will be looking at companies led by seasoned operators and entrepreneurs, solving with a first principle mindset and exceptional execution capacity in a large market,” Pearl highlighted.

Eximius Ventures’ Fund I has already made significant strides, having invested in 23 companies. About 60% of these portfolio companies have secured multiple up- rounds from prominent global investors, delivering an IRR of greater than 40%.
