The 62-year-old Adani Group chairman, Gautam Adani, has declared that he will retire at age 70 and hand over leadership of the company to his sons and their relatives in the early 2030s. Adani’s four heirs, cousins Pranav and Sagar, sons Karan and Jeet, and others, are reportedly going to get equal benefits from the family trust.

A private contract that will manage the change in control of the conglomerate’s many companies is part of the succession plan. This information was reported by Bloomberg News using insider knowledge of the arrangements.

Gautam’s older son, Karan Adani, is the managing director of Adani Ports at the moment, and his younger son, Jeet Adani, is a director of Adani Airports. On the business website, Pranav Adani has the position of director for Adani Enterprises, while Sagar Adani is the executive director for Adani Green Energy.

According to reports, Pranav and Karan are thought to be the front-runners for the chairman position in the future. The significance of a meticulously planned succession plan has been underscored by Gautam Adani in order to guarantee the enduring viability of the enterprise. The shift is meant to be organic, methodical, and progressive, showing cautious planning for the conglomerate’s future leadership.

The heirs will continue to collaborate on decisions within the Adani Group even after Dad retires. This strategy aims to preserve equilibrium and guarantee that strategic choices are taken collaboratively, particularly in times of crisis.

This news comes as Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of the Adani Group, reported a significant boost in its first-quarter profits, more than doubling from previous figures. This growth has been attributed to increased investments in renewable energy, underscoring the group’s expanding focus on sustainable business practices.
