J&K Authority Fines Honasa for Product Price Inconsistency

The parent company of D2C unicorn Mamaearth, Honasa Consumer, was penalized by the Jammu & Kashmir authorities for a discrepancy in unit sale prices of their goods .

The company announced that it has received an order for INR 50,000 in compounding fees against it and its designated director/executive, from the Office of the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology in Kulgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

According to Rule 6(11) of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, the unit sale price of the commodity is not computed to the correct place of decimal, as stated in the filing.

Honasa stated that it does not anticipate any further effects from the order on the company’s finances or activities, except from the fine amount.
