Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passed away yesterday from age-related medical condition. He was ninety-two.
“With profound grief, we inform the demise of former Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh, aged 92. He was being treated for age-related medical conditions and had a sudden loss of consciousness at home on 26 December 2024,” AIIMS said.

“The day after tomorrow, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s last rites will take place. “We will make an official announcement,” said KC Venugopal, general secretary of the Congress.
From 2004 until 2014, Manmohan Singh headed the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), led by the Congress, as prime minister for two terms. He had spent the past few months in poor health.
Three daughters and wife Gurcharan Singh survive the former prime minister.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences for the leader’s passing in a post on X.
