Instagram, a social media platform owned by Meta, experienced a disruption for a number of users in India today, October 8. A crowdsourced outage tracking platform called Downdetector reports that several users began experiencing problems using the app at approximately 11:15 AM.
According to the data, 24% of users encountered server connection problems and over 64% of users had trouble login onto the app.
People who were having problems with Instagram started to report them to X, which was once known as Twitter. Many reported seeing an error message that said, “Something went wrong.”
In addition to not having issued an official statement on the matter, Instagram has not yet provided an explanation for the present downtime.
