Info Edge Ventures has provided $1 million in pre-seed funding to shoppin’, a cutting-edge AI-powered fashion search engine that aims to transform fashion discovery through smooth and customized search experiences. The website makes online fashion browsing more user-friendly by allowing consumers to find clothing through prompts, moods, product descriptions, and photographs.
In just three weeks, Shoppin’ has amassed over 35,000 Instagram followers and 20,000+ waitlist sign-ups without spending any money on promotion. The money will be used to scale operations, improve proprietary technologies, and hire AI experts. The platform is incorporating fashion-specific embedding models and custom-built short language models (SLMs).
“If Google’s indexing, OpenAI’s multi-modal search, and Pinterest’s social DNA had a fashion-obsessed child, it would be us,” stated Shlok Bhartiya, Shoppin’s founder and CEO. The startup wants to make shopping as easy as clicking an image by bridging the gap between e-commerce discovery and social inspiration (Instagram & Pinterest).
Shoppin’ is establishing itself as a reliable partner for direct-to-consumer fashion manufacturers and a shoppable Pinterest with its beta debut scheduled for February 2025. Shoppin’ is poised to revolutionize fashion search and personalization as Gen-Z depends more and more on AI-powered discovery.
